AC Milan sports director Massimiliano Mirabelli, together with club manager Christian Abbiati were at Santiago Bernabeu to attend the first Champions League semifinal.
According to Calciomercato.com the work expedition of Mirabelli appeared very similar to that of a year ago, when the sports director of AC Milan together with Marco Fassone went to Cardiff for the Champions League final between Juventus and Real Madrid. In that case the Rossoneri executives strengthened contacts with agent Jorge Mendes (who brought Andre Silva to Milanello) and then tried an attempt (failed) for Alvaro Morata, a Los Blancos player at the time.
Instead, this time, Mirabelli was concentrated on three Real Madrid players who could be very useful for AC Milan in the future: the first is Karim Benzema, who scored twice against Bayern. The French 30 year old striker does not have a great feeling with Madrid supporters and is expected to leave Span at the end of the season. The Rossoneri are currently in search of a centre forward and Benzema is considered a valid alternative. Obviously this is a difficult operation for several reasons.
On the other hand, Mirabelli has also great interest for two Real midfielders: former Inter Mateo Kovacic, an interesting option for the control room, and 21 year old Dani Ceballos, who was left on the bench. The young Spanish talent is wanted by half of Europe and he too is destined to leave Real because of the scarce play time granted by Zidane this seasons.
