Milan vs Spezia, probable lineups
AC Milan face newly promoted Spezia in their third Serie A match. The Rossoneri could make many changes in midfield and attack.
Today at 18:00 CET, AC Milan host newly promoted Spezia at the San Siro. The Rossoneri have been victorious in the first five games this season and Stefano Pioli expects a sixth consecutive win in Milan vs Spezia.
Captain Alessio Romagnoli has returned to train with the rest of the squad but he will start playing only after the international break. Thus Stefano Pioli has no choice in defence but to use the same back four that has been seen in recent games. Kjaer and Gabbia will form the central duo while Theo Hernandez and Davide Calabria complete the department.
The performance of Ismael Bennacer against Rio Ave was disappointing and he stayed for 120 minutes on the pitch. For Milan vs Spezia he is fighting with Rade Krunic for a spot in Pioli’s eleven. Krunic could be the big surprise. Out Kessie with Sandro Tonali set to pull the strings from the midfield.
The turnover will be even more drastic up front. Hakan Calhanoglu will be rested with Brahim Diaz taking his spot. Saelemaekers is in good form recently and will play on the right with Rafael Leao finally making his first minute debut on the left reports La Gazzetta dello Sport.
With both Rebic and Ibrahimovic out, Pioli has no choice but to trust Lorenzo Colombo to lead the attack. Daniel Maldini proved against Rio Ave he can’t play as centre forward.
AC MILAN (4-2-3-1): Donnarumma, Calabria, Kjaer, Gabbia, Theo; Krunic, Tonali; Saelemaekers, Brahim Diaz, Leao; Colombo.
SPEZIA (4-3-3): Rafael, Ferrer, Chabot, Erlic, Marchizza, Bartolomei, Ricci, MAggiore, Verde, Galabinov, Gyasi.
