Alexandre Pato: “Thee two players will decide the derby”
Alexandre Pato today is in China, where he is trying to re-launch himself after a career in decline, passing from the glory of AC Milan and the Brazilian national to an exotic and rich land but without too much appeal. Interviewed by Tuttosport, the former Rossonero spoke about today’s Milan and about the work his friend Rino Gattuso is doing: “I expected the return of Milan, the team is of quality, there are many good youngsters, I know Rino well and I know what it means for him to coach Milan, “living” in that sacred place that is Milanello. I congratulate Rino and Milan for having achieved the Italian Cup final, good luck! Maybe I’ll be able to come and see the final, who knows“.
Impossible not to talk about the derby, an appointment that for every former player of Milan is sacred: “I expect a great match with a Milan in an excellent physical and mental condition and an Inter in slight decline and under more pressure, but it would be harmful to consider them defeated from the start. We will see a beautiful match! The Milan derby must be watched always, despite the time zone. Who will be decisive? I say Bonucci for Milan, Icardi for Inter. I have good memories of the derby, the best one is when I scored a brace in the 3-0 of 2010-2011″.
Countdown to the derby continues: the report of today’s training session
Gattuso and his Milan from -18 to -7
Many doubted his appointment as AC Milan coach but Gennaro Gattuso is now loved and highly cherished but all Rossoneri fans. A young technician and less prestigious then his colleague on the other side of the Navigli. The former AC Milan midfielder’s performances are however extraordinary.
At the moment of his shock-debut, meaning the draw in extremis with Benevento, Gattuso’s Rossoneri were -18 points from the Inter rivals, a sort of signal that was not encouraging. But to date, on the eve of the return derby, the points separating both teams are only 7. Bravo to mister Rino for shortening such a big distance and improving considerably the season of the red and blacks who on Sunday, in case of a victory, will be -4 from their cousins.
