AC Milan vs Brescia, probable lineups

Coach Giampaolo is ready to change formation for AC Milan vs Brescia. However, new signings will still stay on the bench.

SERIE A – Nearly 60,000 fans will support the Rossoneri at San Siro tonight. AC Milan’s number one mission is going to be to immediately forget the debut fiasco against Udinese. AC Milan vs Brescia is a must win match for the Rossoneri and coach Marco Giampaolo is well aware of that.

Giampaolo’s experimental 4-3-1-2 was a total failure but the coach insists and is switching to a smoother 4-3-2-1 version rather than the old 4-3-3 formation used by Gattuso and Montella. The formation change will be accompanied by only one adjustment regarding the starting eleven with Ismael Bennacer in the control  room.

The main problem highlighted by Giampaolo analysis after Udinese-Milan was on the attack with the Rossoneri failing to make a single shot on goal. Obviously Giampaolo asked certain movements from Piatek that, as the coach himself latter admitted, are not part of his characteristics. With Suso more on the right rather than behind as trequartista, Piatek has proven to perform much better.

Fabio Borini could earn a surprise confirmation as the coach believes that Franck Kessie still needs time to understand his requirements. Giampaolo was hoping that Giacomo Bonaventura would make his debut from the first minute after one year out injured but, as revealed in the press conference yesterday, he’s not yet fully ready. That’s good news for Castillejo who is headed for another first minute start. As mentioned earlier, Ismael Bennacer, who will play in front of the defence, is the only new signing to debut against Brescia.

Lucas Paqueta will continue to play as inside left midfielder. No changes in the back line even though Leo Duarte has impressed Giampaolo with his commitment and is a real danger for Musacchio. It will also be interesting to see how Rososneri long-time transfer target, Brescia midfielder, Sandro Tonali will fare against Milan.

AC MILAN (4-3-2-1): Donnarumma, Calabria, Romagnoli, Musacchio, Rodriguez, Borini (Kessie), Bennacer, Paqueta, Suso, Castillejo, Piatek.

BRESCIA (4-3-1-2): Joronen; Sabelli, Cistana, Chancellor, Martella, Bisoli, Tonali, Dessena, Spalek, Aye, Donnarumma.
