It was not an unforgettable experience that of Djamel Mesbah with the Milan shirt, which lasted only one year. But for him it was fundamental experience for a character and professional growth.

In an interview with Gianluca Di Marzio, he confirmed: “With Milan it was incredible. I went to the Rossoneri after good performances put on show with Lecce and it was a unique experience for a player like me: a good player but not a champion”.

With the Rossoneri he had the chance to spend his professional life together with many big champions: “Training with certain champions makes you grow rapidly. Every minute spent with them makes you mature. Also because they were not just amazing footballers but also very humble guys. It was impressive to train at Milanello: a workout was often harder than a Serie A match due to the hunger and the determination with which everyone trained”.

Mesbah revealed some interesting episodes that show the level of competition that existed at the time at AC Milan: “Nobody wanted to lose. I remember a heavy verbal dispute between two phenomena like Seedorf and Ibra started on the pitch and then continued in the locker room. This is to make you understand how everyone went into the pitch demanding the maximum from every teammate, regardless of who he was”.

Then a backstory on the heavy clash between Massimiliano Allegri and Ibrahimovic after a Champions League match: “Another episode that impressed me is linked to the Champions League in 2012, when on the second leg we were defeated by Arsenal 3-0 after winning at home 4-0. Coach Allegri returned to the locker room, offering us compliments for the qualification but Ibra went on a rampage: ‘I do not want to make a sh**ty figure’. And when Ibra got angry, there was not much to joke about”.
