After failing to agree terms with Atalanta, AC Milan left-back Diego Laxalt is very close to joining Torino on loan with the right to buy.
MILAN TRANSFER NEWS – Yesterday AC Milan announced the termination of Ivan Strinic’s contract, now it’s Diego Laxalt’s turn. In the last week of the summer transfer window, the Rossoneri are working to make some sales before completing a move for Angel Correa.
The Uruguayan international is out of Marco Giampaolo’s technical project. Theo Hernandez will be the starter on the left while Ricardo Rodriguez the alternative. After having failed to agree personal terms with Atalanta, who signed Arana instead, Torino has emerged as the most likely destination for Laxalt.
Tuttomercatoweb reports that the Granata have made an official offer for the 26-year-old. Torino have proposed a loan move for 1 million with the right to make the transfer permanent at the end of the season for another €13 million.
The player will earn 1.4 million per season, much more than Atalanta had offered. Marseille had asked for information on the player recently but without advancing talks. Zenit St. Petersburg too are out of the race for Laxalt’s services.
Torino are searching for a left-back after they failed to sign Fares. The SPAL defender suffered a serious knee injury and Urbano Cairo decided to pull the plug on Fares transfer. Laxalt is suited to the tactical ideas of Walter Mazzarri, who plays with the same game system, 3-5-2, with which the Uruguayan imposed himself on Genoa.
