AC Milan are in discussions to renew Suso’s contract but the demands of the Spanish winger are exaggerated, to say the least.
AC Milan coaches have changed at regular pace every year but Suso remains a focal point. He made his first-team breakthrough under Vincenzo Montella and has been a regular starter ever since.
The Spanish right winger is nearing his 150th appearances for AC Milan. Despite the countless criticisms from the Rossoneri fans, the future of the 25-year-old seems to still be in Italy.
For some time, Suso and Milan are negotiating a new deal for the former Liverpool winger. Suso’s current contract expires in 2022 but his release clause of €38 is something the club has been trying to remove. Nevertheless, no progress has been made.
Although AC Milan would like to keep Suso, and the player has publicly declared his desire to remain at Milan, there is great difference between the parties.
According to Tuttosport, Suso has asked for an improved contract of 6 million euros per season. He wants to match AC Milan’s highest earner Gigio Donnarumma. The Rossoneri have refused and considering his performances this season they will not change their mind any time soon.
