Roma are among a number of clubs interested in AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie who could leave in January.
In order to fund the January transfer window the Rossoneri must sell a couple of players. The names of Ricardo Rodriguez, Franck Kessie and Fabio Borini have been mentioned as possible departures but only Kessie is guaranteed to leave.
The Rossoneri paid €32 million to sign Kessie from Atalanta but have been disappointed with the performances of the Ivorian. In his third season at San Siro, the 22-year-old central midfielder remains a regular starter but his productivity has often been underwhelming.
Furthermore, the attitude of Franck is a big problem for the club. His derby fight with Lucas Biglia and the gesture with Acerbi’s jersey have caused a lot of headaches for the club. For economic and disciplinary reasons, Paolo Maldini has decided that AC Milan should sell Kessie.
The Rossoneri value the former Atalanta at €35 million and a number of Premier League clubs like Wolverhampton, West Ham and Tottenham are interested in his services. Nevertheless, the first club to make a concrete move for Kessie is Roma. The Giallorossi are offering captain Florenzi in exchange for Kessie reports Calciomercato.
Coach Paulo Fonseca prefers other players and Alessandro Florenzi risks losing his place in the national team for the Euro 2020 championship. The 28-year-old right back is seriously considering leaving Roma despite being captain of the team. Although AC Milan could use a new right back after the disappointing performances of Conti and Calabria, they value Florenzi around 25 million. If Roma don’t improve their offer, Florenzi must look for another club.
