Theo Hernandez, Ismael Bennacer, Rafael Leao and more will play in the upcoming Serie A matches Torino-Milan and Milan-Fiorentina.
It’s finally time for the new signings to play. According to Corriere dello Sport, this is Marco Giampaolo’s move to get Milan out of this early season mini-crisis. The common thought is that nothing is compromised. The Rossoneri are certainly farther back than anyone could have imagined but everything is recoverable and the management fully supports the coach to turn the page.
AC Milan needs freshness, quality and personality to get out of this difficult moment and the new signings can certainly help in this regard. Thus, already on Thursday against Torino, changes are expected in every part of the pitch.
In defense, most likely, there will be Theo Hernandez from the first minute. Ricardo Rodriguez was disastrous in the derby and risks losing his spot in the starting eleven to Theo for the entire season. The former Real Madrid excelled during pre-season and now that he has fully recovered Hernandez can help Milan in defence but especially in attack.
In midfield, Ismael Bennacer returns in the control room. With his performance against Brescia, he proved to be a quick midfielder both in thought and execution, while also combining a certain ability to recover possession. Named the best player in African Cup, Bennacer has the necessary qualities that AC Milan needs especially in the heart of the midfield.
Finally the attack, where Rafael Leao will certainly be seen from the first minute. Leao was AC Milan’s most expensive summer signing as well as one of the few positive notes from the bitter derby defeat. The Portuguese, able to combine good technique with speed, will support Krzysztof Piatek up front.
And it might not end here. Because in addition to these three faces, whose use is rather obvious, there could also be space for two other entrances for Torino and for Sunday’s match with Fiorentina. Former Empoli midfielder Rude Krunic could finally make his AC Milan debut with Ante Rebic readyto play from the first minute after two substitute appearances with Verona and Inter.
