Hakan Calhanoglu has became a key figure in Stefano Pioli’s AC Milan squad. However, his stay with the Rossoneri is far from sure.
Hakan Calhanoglu is experiencing a period of renaissance at San Siro. After the lockdown he has become a key figure at AC Milan and in the last nine games he has either scored or assisted (against Bodo Glimt he did both).
Many wonder what has happened to him but the answer is quite simple. Unlike the past seasons when coaches experimented with Hakan playing him as central midfielder, left midfielder or winger, Pioli is using him in his natural position as attacking midfielder behind the striker.
Nevertheless, there is a real risk that AC Milan may be enhancing a player that may leave for free in just a few months. The contract of the 26-year-old Turkey international expires in one year and no renewal progress has been made so far.
Hakan Calhanoglu is an indispensable element in Stefano Pioli’s side. The Rossoneri must speed up talks if they want to be sure they have Calhanoglu available for the years to come. Other top European clubs have began circling.
According to todofichajes, Calhanoglu has already had contacts with Paris Saint Germain, Arsenal and Manchester United. At the moment the priority is to renew with AC Milan, but if an agreement is not reached in a short time, the former Leverkusen could sensationally decide to leave the Rossoneri.
