AC Milan recorded a great win against Napoli but lost Alexis Saelemaekers and Zlatan Ibrahimovic to injury for a considerable time.
IBRAHIMOVIC INJURY: AC Milan came out victorious against Napoli thanks to a fantastic performances from Zlatan Ibrahimovic. The Swedish centre forward scored a brace but around the 80th minute he left pitch due to a muscular injury.
Today’s medical examinations confirmed an injury on Ibra’s left thigh hamstring. A serious loss for AC Milan who risk playing without their star striker for at least 2-3 weeks. The player will undergo new checks in about ten days that will clarify the exact recovery times but the matches Zlatan will miss will certainly not be few.
Obviously the 39-year-old will miss the upcoming games against Lille on Thursday and even Sunday at San Siro with Fiorentina. His absence is practically certain also for the fifth round of the Europa League which will see Stefano Pioli’s side face against Celtic and the subsequent Serie A team in Genoa with Sampdoria.
Very likely the Swedish giant will make his return on the pitch in the last Europa League match against Sparta Prague or on 13 December for the Serie A match against Parma. Besides Ibra, Alexis Saelemaekers too suffered an injury that forced him to leave the match a few minutes earlier than Ibra.
SAELEMAEKERS INJURY: During today’s medical examinations, it was confirmed that the Belgian winger has a first degree sprained ankle. The next few days will be crucial to determine his exact recovery time but most likely he will stay out for 2-3 weeks.
