After spending €50 million to buy Hirving Lozano from PSV Eindhoven, Napoli are ready to let him leave even on loan.
The adventure of Hirving Lozano at Napoli seems to have reached the end credits. The Mexican left winger, the most expensive purchase in Napoli’s history, is not part of coach Gennaro Gattuso’s plans. The relationship between the two is certainly not the best and the playing style of the 24-year-old does not seem to suit the former Milan coach.
The farewell to Napoli, at the end of the season, seems somewhat obvious for Lozano. It’s difficult to evaluate what will be the asking price of Napoli for their star who has struggled to impose himself in his first year in Serie A. Furthermore, the Coronavirus emergency has greatly reduced the economic power of clubs, especially in Italy.
According to rumors, conscious that they won’t be able to recoup their high investment for the former PSV, Napoli are reportedly willing to allow Lozano to leave on loan. Last summer the Partenopei spent a total of €50 million (transfer fee plus commissions for Raiola) to buy Lozano. Thus a very good opportunity for many teams to seize.
Before joining Napoli, the Mexican international was a top target of AC Milan. Paolo Maldini strongly wanted him at Milan but the player preferred a move to Napoli because he wanted to work with coach Carlo Ancelloti.
In summer AC Milan and Napoli could resume talks. Napoli are interested in Franck Kessie so there is the chance to consider many options. Coach Gennaro Gattuso is a big fan of the Ivorian and sees the 23-year-old as the ideal player to strengthen the midfield. For the Rossoneri on the other hand Kessie remains on the market. The former Atalanta midfielder can leave the Rossoneri at any time for the right offer, perhaps even in a swap deal.
