Milan legend slams transfer market policy
The Chinese invested more than 200 million euros in the summer transfer window but some of the best players to have graced San Siro are not impressed with the result.
AC Milan underwent a total transformation this summer thanks to a buzzing strengthening campaign. Eleven new player have arrived to enrich the squad and aim for a comfortable qualification in the next Champions League, a fundamental goal for the club of Aldo Rossi street.
It will not be easy because the competition this year is higher than ever. Juventus, Inter, Napoli, Roma and Lazio are all fighting for the same goal. The rossoneri, however, have the necessary qualities to compete with these teams, seemingly stronger. The red and blacks have to grow in time and find the right place for some fundamental components but the initial results look promising. With the new formation, 3-5-2, Vincenzo Montella seems to have found the right balance. But there is still a lot to work on.
With regard to AC Milan’s transfer policies there are still those who are not much convinced. Many football experts have expressed their opinions about the value of the new purchases and Zvonimir Boban is the latest to join the discussion. Interviewed by Blick, the Croatian (currently general deputy secretary of FIFA) explained: “The favorite team for the title remains Juventus. Milan has signed good footballers but not champions. It will be difficult to get results with so many new purchases, but I hope I’m wrong“.
In today’s press conference, manager Montella expressed this thoughts about the matter. However, the technician didn’t forget to point out the great respect he has for the former Milan player that with Milan has achieved important results. Boban continued: “The best team i played with is the Milan of the three Dutch players: Gullit, Rijkaard and Van Basten. But also Papin and Savicevic. And the best Italians ever: Baresi and Maldini“.
