AC Milan last summer signing Ante Rebic could make his first minute debut in the derby against Inter reports Sportmediaset.
MILAN NEWS – Minus 2 days from the derby. There is great curiosity about Mr. Giampaolo’s choices regarding the starting eleven to face Inter. It will be his first derby della Madonnina after dominating the derby of Genoa for three years.
According to Sportmediaset, the Italian coach is mixing a crazy idea. Apparently Giampaolo is considering to launch from the first minute the latest summer signings Ante Rebic. The Croatian international made his debut in the Rossoneri’s victory against Hellas Verona in the second half.
It seems that Rebic is favorite over Samu Castillejo and Lucas Paqueta for a starting spot in the derby. The Brazilian has been underwhelming in his recent performances and that’s why Giampaolo is thinking about a change.
The inclusion of Rebic in the starting line-up should also mean the automatic transition to 4-3-3 as AC Milan’s base formation. Giampaolo appears ready to abandon, at least for now, his “Christmas Tree” and return to the old 4-3-3 line-up.
Rebic would therefore play as left winger, completing the offensive department with Piatek at the center and Suso moved back on the right. The Croatian made a good impact against Verona, perhaps it’s time to for Giampaolo to give the new arrivals more space.
