Considering the many difficulties in convincing Atletico to sell Correa, AC Milan have shifted their focus on Gremio star winger Everton Soares.
MILAN TRANSFER NEWS – AC Milan continue to negotiate with Atletico Madrid for Angel Correa but after many rejected proposals the Rossoneri have turned their attention to an old transfer target. Milan have re-established contacts with Gremio for Everton Soares.
It seems like even the last offer wasn’t convincing enough for Atletico. The Rossoneri bid €35 million plus 5 million in bonuses for Correa and in addition Atletico Madrid would receive 30% of any future transfer. The Spanish club again refused forcing Milan to open talks for Everton.
With only a few days remaining until the end of the summer transfer window Milan can not afford to lose more time and need to complete the squad. Everton Soares is the alternative to Angel Correa. The Brazilian winger was very close to joining Milan when Leonardo was sporting director of the club.
Gianluca Di Marzio reveals that AC Milan have contacted Gremio and the Brazilian club value Everton Soares at €40 million. That’s exactly the fee AC Milan has set aside for one last signing this summer.
But even in this case a deal is not that simple. Though Gremio are open to sell, the difficulty of the operation is linked above all to necessary time for the bureaucratic procedures to be completed. Except Gremio, several companies own a part of the player’s rights. After a great season in Brazil, Everton Soares stepped up and produced a breakout tournament at Copa America cementing his place as one of the most exciting talents in south America.
