AC Milan new coach Marco Giampaolo and Paolo Maldini are already planning the summer transfer campaign of the Rossoneri.
MILAN NEWS – Marco Giampaolo and AC Milan, the official announcement is slow to arrive but it’s only a matter of time. The Rossoneri and the Italian coach have reached a total agreement and, together with Paolo Maldini, Giampaolo is already planning the future Milan.
The only reason why Giampaolo’s appointment is not official, explains Il Corriere dello Sport, is simple bureaucracy. His agent, Tullio Tinti, is just waiting to meet president Massimo Ferrero to officially end his adventure at Sampdoria. The last necessary step before signing a two-year contract with AC Milan with an option for a third season and a salary of about 2 million per year.
While waiting for white smoke, Paolo Maldini remains in continuous contacts with Giampaolo regarding the transfer market. The Italian coach has indicated he wants to have with him at Milan two Sampdoria players: Dennis Praet and Joachim Andersen. The 25-year-old central midfielder is a loyal player of Giampaolo who considers the Belgium international “the Modric of tomorrow“. Praet has established himself as one of the best players in his position in Serie A. Sampdoria value Praet at €25 million. When recently asked about a possible transfer to Milan, Praet said: “Milan? I’m am ambitious player and ready for a top club“.
Joachim Andersen is another success story of Giampaolo. After he transformed Milan Skriniar into one of the best defenders in Serie A in just one year, Giampaolo did the same with the 23-year-old Danish defender. Andersen established himself as one of the best centre backs in Serie A this season. Arsenal are also very interested in the Sampdoria duo and have reportedly made an unsuccessful €45 million bid for the two. Sampdoria 60 million for the pair.
Giampaolo has been briefed by Maldini also on AC Milan’s obligation to sell some players this summer. Without Champions league the Rossoneri need to balance their books. The star to be sacrificed very likely is going to be Suso and not Donnarumma. Giampaolo, who does not use a winger in his 4-3-1-2 lineup, has reportedly accepted Suso’s sale.
