AC Milan will be without their leading striker for the Genoa match. Zlatan Ibrahimovic received a red card against Parma.
AC Milan secured an important 3-1 win against Parma that keeps the Rossoneri in 2nd place. Unfortunately, at the 60th minute, Zlatan Ibrahimovic was sent off with a red card after protests towards referee Fabio Maresca.
Coach Stefano Pioli will be without the services of Ibra for AC Milan’s upcoming match against Genoa. A big problem because Zlatan is one of the Rossoneri’s best players and in his absence the squad has failed to produce goals.
Replacing Zlatan Ibrahimovic is going to be a very tough task for Pioli but the Italian coach seems to have made his choice already. Unlike what many had expected it will not be Mario Mandzukic to lead the attack.
The Croatian striker had missed the last seven Serie A matches due to muscle problems but was on the bench for the Parma game. Nevertheless, Mandzukic is not yet physically ready to start from the first minute so Poli has decided to rely on Rafael Leao.
The Portuguese had been out for nearly one month and returned on the pitch against Parma. Six minutes were enough for Leao to find the back of the net and secure three important points for the Rossoneri. For Milan vs Genoa, Rafael Leao will have another chance from the first minute.
