At a moment when fans expect news on new purchases the biggest shocker of AC Milan’s summer could be the return of Andrea Bertolacci.

Andrea Bertolacci’s return to Milanello was considered as just a formality initially. The 27 year old central midfielder would join the Rossoneri during the pre-season training until sporting director Mirabelli could reach a deal with Genoa. But now things have changed considerably.

By the will of Gennaro Gattuso, Andrea Bertolacci is expected to remain at San Siro and in addition he is set to sign a deal with the Rossoneri. His current contract expires in the summer of 2019.

Sources claim the Rino was left impressed by the dedication and performance of the Italian in training. At a time when Massimiliano Mirabelli had received two official offers from Genoa and Everton, both in the 6-7 million euros region, Rino vetoed his departure.

While many fans would consider this move as a misjudgment from the coach it is without a doubt a big gamble for Rino and AC Milan to try to rehabilitate a 20 million euros flop from the Galliani era.
