Fenerbahce’s offer for Calhanolgu: the details
No other player has disappointed more than Hakan Calhanoglu this season. After only six months at Milan the Turkish midfielder seems destined to leave San Siro.
One thing is certain, in January the AC Milan squad will shrink significantly. It’s an precise indication from new coach Gennaro Gattuso who wants to have a maximum of 23-25 players at his disposal and therefore certain components will become redundant. Among the players who could leave Milanello during the winter transfer window there is also an element that, at the time of his signing last summer, few would have predicted him already departing after only six months in the Rossoneri jersey. Hakan Calhanoglu, is experiencing a less than positive moment and changing environment could do him more than good.
Yesterday news emerged about inquiries for Calhanoglu from Turkey, with at least a couple of top-level clubs that would be ready to welcome the discontented Rossoneri number 10 in his native country. Today giving more information about the Turkish offer is Calciomercato.com that talks about concrete contacts between AC Milan and Fenerbahce, a historic club of Istanbul that wants to recover ground after some recent not so exciting seasons and a hitherto disappointing fifth place in the standings this season.
It seems that the black-yellows of Istanbul have formally requested the loan of Calhanoglu from AC Milan until the end of the season and then negotiate with the Rossoneri his possible permanent signing. As already said the club of Via Aldo Rossi would not mind sending the Turkish number 10 to play more consistently, but there is a discourse related to the figures invested in the summer, with Calhanoglu purchased from Bayer Leverkusen for a total of 22 million euros, a sum that Milan would like to cash even in the future so as not to risk a sensational loss. Of course, Hakan’s performance does not help but it’s still too early to say whether the player will leave.
