AC Milan offer swap deal for Benfica gem

Florentino Luis

AC Milan have reignited their interest in Benfica starlet Florentino Luis and are offering a swap deal that suits both clubs.

Serie A has been stopped due to the Coronavirus outbreak but the AC Milan management are carefully planning for next season. One department that is in great need of improvements is the midfield and the Rossoneri are hopping to close two problems with a single move.

According to Tuttosport, AC have not quit the idea of purchasing Benfica gem Florentino Luis. The Rossoneri are willing to offer Lucas Paqueta in a swap deal for Florentino Luis.

Both players are experiencing delicate situations in their respective clubs, albeit for different reasons. The Brazilian midfielder plays little for tactical issues, while the 20-year-old Portuguese defensive midfielder has ended up on the bench after entering in a conflict with the club.

Milan have been following Florentino Luis for a lot of time and a concrete attempts were made last summer and in January buy Florentino. While Benfica tried to buy Paqueta when he played for Flamengo.

This season Maldini and Boban have been in continuous contacts with Benfica’s director of football and former Milan player Rui Costa. Florentino Luis has a release clause of 120 million euros, however, Benfica will not be able to claim that figure.

The hugely talented midfielder has been out of the squad since November by decision of the club thus greatly deceasing his market value. An equal exchange between Lucas Paqueta and Florentino Luis could be the ideal solution for both clubs who have to deal with unwanted players but without losing money.
