Flamengo midfielder Lucas Paqueta remains one of AC Milan’s top targets for January with Leonardo recently meeting his agent to discuss a transfer.
The 21 year old Flamengo star has become one of the most sought after players after two seasons of fantastic appearances in the Brazilian Serie A. Top European clubs like PSG, Manchester City, Manchester United and Liverpool are interested in his services but it’s the Rossoneri who are working more to secure his signature for January.
Despite the difficulties of the deal, AC Milan still have entered in official contacts with the player and his club exploring the possibility of reaching an agreement for the winter transfer window. Tuttosport reports today that a meeting was held between Milan sporting director Leonardo and the agent of Lucas Paqueta, Eduardo Uram.
The agent confirmed that Flamengo rates its gem 50 million euros, the precise figure of his release clause. The Brazilian club will rejected any offer inferior to that amount. Under these economic conditions, it seems difficult for the Rossoneri club to step forward. Leonardo is willing to make a proposal of 30 million for the Brazil star.
Lucas Paqueta is one of the most promising attacking midfielders in South America but his current market value can not be 50 million. Even though the transfer market prices are heavily inflated nowadays since PSG’s purchase of Neymar, Flamengo shoots very high hoping for bidding war in order to make a big profit.
The young talent still has a lot to prove, even if his technical qualities are undeniable. The AC Milan target scored twice in the 3-1 victory against Corinthians. Good performance that has certainly attracted even more the eyes of the big clubs. So far Paqueta has has made 24 appearances, scoring 9 goals and providing 2 assists.
