AC Milan may need to sign a winger soon if Montella continues to use the 4-3-3 formation. Jorge Mendes appears to have the solution.

We are in mid-August, but AC Milan’s marcato is still in development despite the near start of the Serie A championship. The rossoneri hunt for a centre forward but other signings are not excluded.

Among the possible last moment arrivals is also that of a winger, if manager Vincenzo Montella decides to use again the 4-3-3 formation on continuity, Fassone and Mirabelli need to complete the team with a last signing on the flank. In these hours, the candidacy of a footballer who was for a long time on the rossoneri’s radar seems to be re-emerging. We are referring to Anwar El Ghazi, the Moroccan right winger (with a Dutch passport) playing for Lille. AC Milan have been following him since he played for Ajax and negotiated his signing last January but the French club managed to close a deal first.

Now El Ghazi is back on the market, in France he does not appear to have found the ideal environment to express himself. The 22 year old winger was again offered to AC Milan by Jorge Mendes, the well-known Portuguese agent who also boasts the presence of the Moroccan talent in his squad. The rossoneri were interested, but only on one condition: not to spend more than 7 million euros to bring El Ghazi in San Siro. According to Calciomercato.com, Massimiliano Mirabelli has already given the green light to this operation but Lille are not accepting an offer below 10 million euros to let El Ghazi leave. They spent almost 10 millions for his services a year ago. In the last days of August the situation will be clearer.

Anwar El Ghazi joined Lille after 3 years at Ajax where he totaled 100 appearances. Last season he scored 2 goals in 13 games while this years he started Ligue 1 immediately with a goal.
