Andrea Conti is a step away from joining AC Milan. A decisive meeting will be held today with his agent presenting a new offer to Atalanta.
MILAN TRANSFER NEWS – AC Milan has been unstoppable in the transfer market till now. Since Marco Fassone and Massimiliano Mirabelli took over the reigns at Milan they have secured the services of Mateo Musacchio from Villarreal (18 millions), Franck Kessie from Atalanta (28 millions), Ricardo Rodriguez from Wolfsburg (15 millions plus 3 in bonuses) and Andre Silva from Porto for 38 million euros. Now it’s the time to definitely close Andrea Conti and complete the defensive back line.
Even though the rossoneri had to face a difficult situation with Gianluigi Donnarumma refusing to sign a new contract, the club continued to monitor the market and analyze potential moves. Different agents enter and exit Casa Milan every day. Mirabelli had an important meeting a few days ago with Atalanta’s president Percassi. The player and his agent have made it clear to Atalanta that Milan is the only destination Conti wants. He rejected a recent approach by Inter who were willing to match Atalanta’s economic requests for the right back.
The latest rumors suggest Andrea Conti is just a step away from joining the rossoneri. Tomorrow, a meeting will be held between his agent, Mario Giuffredi, and Atalanta to bring the parts closer after the Monday’s meeting in which Milan’s bid of 20 million euros was considered to be too low by the Bergamo club. In tomorrow’s meeting Mario Giuffredi (who recently attacked Mino Raiola for the way he handled Donnarumma’s renewal with Milan) will present a new and improved offer to convince Atalanta to accept his departure.
The 23 year old defender enjoyed a sensational season with Atalanta. He was part of bright team filled with young talents that managed to end Serie A in 4-th place and qualify Atalanta in Europa League. Andrea Conti played 33 matches in Serie A this season scoring 8 goals and assisting 4 times. Goal.com praised the defender as the best right back in Europe.
