AC Milan director Frederic Massara met with agent Volker Struth to discuss the availability of three players according to reports.
The season is slowly coming to an end and AC Milan are being very active on a number of fronts. Today, AC Milan sporting director Frederic Massara host at Casa Milan agent Volker Struth who is the head of Sports360. The German plyer agency represents a number of prestigious names like Upamecano, Werner, Kroos and others.
Massara and Struth discussed about a trio of players. The first name is that of Swiss centre back Fabian Schar. Schar becomes a free agent at the end of the season and is looking to leave Newcastle and try a new adventure elsewhere. AC Milan see him as a valid alternative to replace Alessio Romagnoli. The AC Milan captain will part ways with the Rossoneri soon. Schar is an experienced player that can serve as AC Milan’s fourth centre back next season.
The two other names in question are central midfielders. AC Milan are interested in Red Bull Leipzig star Amadou Haidara. The 24-year-old is considered as an alternative to Renato Sanches. The Portuguese remains the Rossoneri’s first choice to replace Kessie but if talks fail Milan need to be prepared.
The Mali international has done really well in his three years in Germany. Haidara has a contract with Red Bull Leipzig until 2025. The market value of the 24-year-old midfielder is around 30 million euros.
The last name discussed between Massara and Struth was that of Julian Weigl. The former Borussia Dortmund talent has managed to revive his career in Portugal with Benfica. The 26-year-old German defensive midfielder is rated around €20 million. Weigl has been on AC Milan’s radar for a long time.
