Marca: Higuain accepts Chelsea offer

Spanish newspaper Marca reports that wantaway AC Milan striker Gonzalo Higuain has reached an agreement with Chelsea.

In yesterday’s press conference during the presentation of Lucas Paqueta, AC Milan sporting director Leonardo revealed his frustration and disappointment with the underwhelming form of Gonzalo Higuain but especially with his attitude (read here). Leo openly criticized Higuain’s indecision an urged him to start performing.

Apparently the Argentine striker did not appreciate Leonardo’s comments and continues to search for an exit route with Chelsea as his next destination. According to Marca, Higuain has accepted an offer from Chelsea where he could join he former coach Maurizio Sarri.

The Spanish sport newspaper reports that Chelsea will approve Higuain’s signing in the coming days with Alvaro Morata set to leave the club immediately. Blues coach Sarri sees Gonzalo Higuain as the perfect player for Chelsea’s attack.

The English club are willing to pay Juventus the 36 million euros fee that the Bianconeri have agreed with Milan. For the majority of the season Chelsea have used Eden Hazard as false nine but in order to compete with Manchester City and Liverpool for the Champions League title Sarri needs a top centre forward.
