Man United luring AC Milan star with rich contract

Manchester United coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

Manchester United are trying to snatch AC Milan star Hakan Calhanoglu. The Turkish midfielder becomes a free agent soon.

The main problem for AC Milan to solve this season is the renewal of Gigio Donnarumma. However, another priority of the club is to tie down Hakan Calhanoglu with a new long-term contract. The current deal of the Turkey international, just like Donnarumma, will expire on June 30th and many greedy European clubs are trying to take advantage of it.

Negotiations have not been productive so far. In November there will be a new meeting to try a find an agreement. At the moment there seems to be an important distance between the parties. AC Milan’s last offer was 3 million euros per season plus bonuses but it was rejected by Hakan who demands twice as much.

AC Milan are expected to make an improved offer. The technically gifted midfielder has been in great form since the beginning of the year. This season Hakan Calhanoglu has scored 4 goals and has provided 4 assists in 8 appearances. His desire is to stay with the Rossoneri but the Turkish player also dreams of Champions League football.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews.it), Manchester United are ready to satisfy his demands. The Premier League giants have offered Hakan a rich five-year deal to bring him in England. Spanish clubs are also keeping tabs on his situation.

Hakan has admirers even in Serie A. Juventus asked for information on his situation while agent Gordon Stipic shockingly offered his services to Inter. A move that was not appreciated at all by the Rossoneri management.
