Maldini meets with Real Madrid defender in secret
AC Milan technical director met with Real Madrid defender Theo Hernandez today in Ibiza. The left-back is available on loan.
MILAN TRANSFER NEWS – AC Milan is the most active club on the transfer market with Maldini and Boban working on a number of transfer targets. A few minutes ago the technical director of the Rossoneri met with Real Madrid defender Theo Hernandez.
Chiringuito TV reported on the meeting that took place in Ibiza. After Dani Ceballos, the 21-year-old left-back is the second Real Madrid player that AC Milan are trying to bring at San Siro for next season. His situation was discussed in detail during Maldini’s travel to Spain a few days ago.
Real Madrid acquired Theo Hernandez for 25 million euros in the summer of 2017 from city-rivals Atletico Madrid. Hernandez was loaned last season to Real Sociedad where he made 28 appearances, scoring 1 goal and providing 2 assists. He has returned to Los Blancos but there is no room for him as the club has already signed another left-back, Ferland Mendy from Lyon.
According to Calciomercato, it’s precisely Real Madrid who have offered Theo to AC Milan. The Italian media reports that the 13-times Champions League winners are willing to give Hernandez on loan with the right to buy for a fee between 18 and 20 million euros.
AC Milan have an absolute need to reinforce the left side of the defence. Diego Laxalt and Ivan Strinic will very likely be sold this summer while Ricardo Rodriguez has not provided adequate guarantees. It should also be reminded that in Giampaolo’s 4-3-1-2 game system the full-backs play a fundamental role. They must guarantee constant to support for the attackers and keep the opponents busy on the wings while at the center the playmaker and the two strikers try to open space.
