Journalist reports that AC Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan has had a talk with coach Stefano Pioli about a potential summer signing.
With the important win against Sampdoria, AC Milan return to the top of Serie A with one point ahead of Inter but the Nerazzurri have one more match to play. A key part in today’s victory played Mike Maignan. The French goalkeeper was decisive not only with his saves but also with an incredible assist for Rafael Leao.
The 26-year-old shot-stopper is without a doubt one of the best AC Milan signings in recent years. Gianluigi Donnarumma is now just a memory from the past with Maignan the undisputed number one at San Siro. Mike and Leao joined the Rossoneri from Lille and the colony of Lille players at AC Milan could increase soon.
Sven Botman is AC Milan’s primary transfer target for the summer. Paolo Maldini is already in contact with Lille and the player. The Netherlands international has reportedly agreed personal terms with Milan and could join the club at the end of the season.
Journalist Daniele Longo reveals an interesting behind the scenes that happened recently at Milanello. “I know that Maignan has talked with Botman about a move to AC Milan. The French goalkeeper made a joke with coach Pioli saying to him: ‘Coach, next year with Botman and Tomori we will win the Scudetto’. They are very good friends“.
This is further proof of how intrigued the Dutch defender is by the idea of starting a new adventure with the Red and Blacks and playing alongside his former teammate. Mike is convinced that Botman is exactly the type of player that can help AC Milan make a significant leap forward.
