AC Milan have received a very tempting bid from Lyon for Rade Krunic but the Rossoneri have lost their top replacement target.
The summer transfer window will end in two days in Italy. As the deadline reaches closer clubs are frenetically moving to complete negotiations and eventual transfers. As already reported be acmilaninfo.com, AC Milan have reached a total agreement with Porto for the signing of Iranian striker Mehdi Taremi.
At the same time the Rossoneri have been presented with a very tempting bid. Transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio reveals that Lyon have presented an unexpected bid of €13 million to purchase Rade Krunic. The French club had sent scouts in Milan’s last game against Torino and have now proceeded to concrete steps.
After long negotiations with Fenerbahce, surprisingly it’s Lyon who have matched AC Milan’s asking price for Rade Krunic while also offering an improved contract to the player. Nevertheless, the Rossoneri find themselves at a difficult spot. The management would like to sell Krunic and cash in convinced they have received the best possible offer for a 30-year-old player but Pioli has been categorically against this idea.
The Italian coach considers Rade Krunic an important player and has been adamant in his decision to keep the Bosnia international at all cost. AC Milan have now also lost Nicolas Dominguez who was their top transfer target to replace Krunic. Dominguez decided to no longer wait for Milan and will be joining Premier League side Nottingham Forest.
Under such conditions, despite the very tempting offer for Krunic, AC Milan are oriented to reject Lyon’s offer and keep the player. With only two days available until the mercato ends, and Nicolas Dominguez headed to England, the Rossoneri believe it will difficult to find a good defensive midfielder.
