Coach Stefano Pioli is forced to make some changes for Liverpool vs Milan. The Rossoneri make their Champions League debut at Anfield.

Only a few hours remain until AC Milan’s return in the Champions League. After so many years out the Rossoneri return in the most prestigious European competition that for many years has been their home. Liverpool vs Milan also echoes some of the most memorable Champions matches in history.

Stefano Pioli has a couple of doubts for the starting lineup that will face the Reds. The Italian coach in fact will be without the services of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Timoue Bakakyoko and Rade Krunic. While Roberto Firmino will miss for Jurgen Klopp’s side.

Pioli will rely on his usual back four in defence. Captain Davide Calabria will play on the right with Theo Hernandez on the left. Once again Simon Kjaer and Fikayo Tomori will form the central duo. New arrival Mike Maignan will protect the goal against one of the most lethal attacking clubs in Europe.

Sandro Tonali was in doubt for Liverpool vs Milan due to intestinal problems but Pioli confirmed his presence. The Italian midfielder will be asked to make a sacrifice and partner with Franck Kessie at the center of the park. Ismael Bennacer is ready if Tonali will be unbale to play.

Alexis Saelemaekers was spared against Lazio so he will take his usual spot on the right wing. In form Rafael Leao will play opposite flank. Both players will have a tough task facing Liverpool’s quick full-backs, Robertson and Alexander-Arnold. Olivier Giroud has returned but due to his inactivity for two weeks Pioli is planning to confirm Ante Rebic in the centre forward role with Brahim Diaz in his support.

LIVERPOOL (4-3-3): Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Van Dijk, Robertson; Fabinho, Henderson, N. Keita; Salah, Mane, Jota.

AC MILAN (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Calabria, Kjaer, Tomori, Theo Hernandez; Tonali (Bennacer), Kessie; Saelemaekers, Brahim Diaz, Rafael Leao; Rebic.
