Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson praised AC Milan’s performance and admits being put at a tight corner by the Rossoneri.
The result obtained by AC Milan last night against Liverpool at Anfield still burns. A bitter 3-2 defeat to a sparkling Liverpool squad. At the end of the first half, however, it seemed that the Rossoneri could succeed and grab three points in their Champions League opener.
In a few minutes, AC Milan overturned the result to 2-1 thanks to the two goals scored by Ante Rebic and Brahim Diaz. Unfortunately, Jurgen Klopp’s team returned to the pitch even more fierce and quickly scored the equalizer and then the final 3-2 goal.
Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson scored the winning goal for the Reds with a powerful shot from the distance. In addition to the goal, Henderson was the author of a great performance overall. The English midfielder praised the Rossoneri in an interview after the game.
“We were a little disappointed that we were in disadvantage at half time. We have to give Milan credit. They are a good team, good players and when you are not on track at one point in the match, you get punished at this level and they did it. But we analyzed some details and what could have helped us in the second half. The boys went out and made a great second half, managing to win. We must be very happy“, said Henderson.
The Rossoneri are currently at the bottom of Group B with zero points. However, the unexpected goalless draw between Atletico Madrid and Porto in Spain gives AC Milan a good chance to bounce in the second round.
