AC Milan former sporting director Leonardo remains interested in Lucas Paqueta and is reportedly preparing a January move for the Brazilian.
Just like the rest of the team, it has been a difficult start to the season even for Lucas Paqueta. First, the Brazilian was protagonist of a misunderstandings with Marco Giampaolo, while now his future hangs in the balance with Stefano Pioli. Pioli, like his predecessors, is convinced that the former Flamengo is a central midfielder rather than a trequartista. And that’s where we will see the 22-year-old in Pioli’s 4-3-3 lineup.
So far the Rossoneri number 39 has not demonstrated his full talent. Paqueta is one of the most skilled players in Italy and the Rossoneri are convinced to have in their hands a future star. AC Milan invested a high figure of €35 million to sign him from Flamengo so the Brazilian should wake up and help the team more. There are great expectations around him but this season he has underwhelmed in the first seven matches of Serie A.
The recent dip in form has sparked rumors about a possible transfer in January with PSG as his next destination. Former AC Milan sporting director, Leonardo, who brought Lucas Paqueta in Italy, would not mind working with him again.
According to reports by Sky Sport journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Leonardo is considering a January move for Paqueta. PSG are monitoring a number of players to straighten their midfield and the Brazil international is one of them. Paqueta would join a large group of Brazilian at PSG including national teammates Neymar, Thiago Silva and Marquinhos.
Lucas has made 22 appearances with the Rossoneri since his January arrival at San Siro. Though his form has fluctuated at times, the 22-year-old remains one of the most important players of AC Milan.
