Leonardo hunting for two new Pato’s in Brazil

He made a quality and abundant shopping campaign this summer with less than a month at the helm of AC Milan. Now Leonardo has all the time he needs to find future stars in Brazil.

After concluding the summer transfer campaign (with a certain satisfaction) AC Milan are already looking ahead. He had no time before – writes Tuttosport this morning – but now Leonardo will have a year ahead of him to study and hunt for new Pato’s. Leo has always had an eye for the Brazilian market and it is there that he could fish in the next few months.

THE NEW OSCAR – The name that most excites the interest of the Rossoneri director is that of Lucas Paqueta, 21 year old attacking midfielder of Flamengo, fresh from his first call in the Seleçao. Left-footed, skilled in dribbling, in Brazil he is being compared to Oscar. In 2018 (from March till today) he has collected 23 total appearances between the Brazilian Serie A and Libertadores, scoring 5 goals and assisting on 4 occasions.

Paqueta has a contract until 2020 and a 48 million euros release clause that Flamengo would like to raise even more. The boy is followed by half of Europe (on him there is also Juventus), so it will not be easy to land him. But the appeal of Leonardo with his countrymen can make the difference.

RODRIGO CAIO – From the midfield/attack to defense. Leonardo has also targeted 25 year old centre back Rodrigo Caio who plays for San Paolo, a club with which the AC Milan technical director boast an excellent relationship. He has an Italian passport and an affordable cost: 15 million euros, a figure widely within the reach of AC Milan.
