AC Milan continue their search for a central midfielder with Sergej Milinkovic-Savic being linked as a potential target. Leonardo clarifies the situation.
Lazio’s star Sergej Milinkovic-Savic has emerged as one of the targets being considered by Leonardo for the midfielder this summer. During today’s presentation of Paolo Maldini, the new technical director of AC Milan commented for the first time this rumors.
When asked about the 23 year old Leo replied: “Why? (laughing) Sergej Milinkovic-Savic is a dream not for us. I think many teams are dreaming of him but unfortunately today to dream of a player of this price tag it’s not possible. He is a player that one year ago (at PSG) when they asked me which Serie A player I wanted to sign, I named him because he still has huge growth potential, great personality, he is a modern player but today it is not feasible“.
The purchase of Sergej Milinkovic-Savic would cost AC Milan more than 100 million euros, a figure that the club can’t spend due to UEFA’s Financial Fair Play restriction. But still, how would have imagined Bonucci back to Juventus and Higuain to Milan!
