Chelsea coach Frank Lampard is looking for a new centre forward and AC Milan star Krzysztof Piatek is the only option he’s considering.

Chelsea are banned from signing new players for two windows but the Blues are said to be confident that the Court of Arbitration for Sport will cut short the harsh punishment and allow them to bolster their young squad in January. Having purchased only Mateo Kovacic and Christian Pulisic this year, Chelsea are preparing for important investments when the market reopens.

New Chelsea coach Frank Lampard has started the season with many young players as part of his starting eleven. The former midfielder is eagerly awaiting for reinforcements. According to The Sun, Chelsea president Roman Abramovich plans to sign five players and one of these is Krzysztof Piatek. The AC Milan striker made a stunning impact in his first season in Italy scoring a record 30 goals in 42 appearances.

Surprisingly, 21-year-old Tammy Abraham has become the leading striker of Chelsea. Olivier Giroud and Michy Batshuayi offer no guarantees and Lampard has requested new signings for the attack. At the moment, Piatek is the only striker on the Premier League giant’s radar reports The Sun.

AC Milan have every intention to keep Piatek after spending €35 million for his services in January. The player appears to be struggling to establish himself in Marco Giampaolo’s schemes but that’s something to be expected when a new coach with different footballing ideas takes over.

Chelsea desperately need a new centre forward and a player of Piatek’s characteristics would fit very well in the Premier League. The former Genoa is one of the few players AC Milan consider unsellable at any price but, if Piatek continues to underperform, the Rossoneri will certainly value their options. Especially in case of an important economic offer that must exceed the €50 million border.
