At a time when everybody was anxious to learn if Donnarumma would renew with Milan, Mirabelli was working to secure Cutrone writes La Gazzetta dello Sport.
While in June everyone was speaking and discussing the contractual renewal rebus of Gianluigi Donnarumma, a real torment of the first few weeks of summer, no one noticed, but at the same time, AC Milan was moving to secure the renewal of another great Primavera talent.
Sports Director, Massimiliano Mirabelli, had already spotted out the growing qualities and technical features of Patrick Cutrone, a young bomber from the Primavera team but ready to debut with the big ones. The rossoneri manager made a sort of bet, proposing an important contract (big numbers for his age) to the 19 year old centre forward, who in June signed a new contract with a salary of 250 thousand euros per year until June 2021. A move which to date, after the recent extraordinary games played by Cutrone under the guidance of manager Vincenzo Montella, becomes almost an “anti-robbery” clause writes La Gazzetta dello Sport.
At the time of signing, as La Gazzetta reports today, AC Milan promised Cutrone and his agent Giovanni Branchini to send the talented striker to play elsewhere on loan for at least one season in order to gain experience and more play time. Hellas Verona were very interested, but nothing was done, not because of an unfulfilled promise, but because Milan has literally fallen in love with the technical and motivational qualities of young Cutrone, so much that Vincenzo Montella pushed to keep him in the first team without a single doubt.
After the signing of the new contract Marco Fassone and Massimiliano Mirabelli made new promise to Cutrone. If he continues to play like this, the club will offer him a new improved contract. So far, the former Primavera has been devastating in front of the goal. In 5 official games Cutrone has netted 3 times.
