According to reports in France, Marseille defensive midfielder Kevin Strootman has been offered to AC Milan.
AC Milan have already made their first signing in attack announcing the return of Zlatan Ibrahimovic. The Rossoneri are close to another purchase with Barcelona defender Jean-Clair Todibo expected to join Pioli’s side soon.
However, the management must also think about reinforcing the midfield. Boban and Maldini’s job would be much easier if they would have a considerable budget to spend in January. Franck Kessie and Lucas Paqueta are the two midfielders with many requests on the market and one of them could leave in January.
According to reports in France by Le Phoocen, Kevin Strootman has been offered to AC Milan by his agents. The Dutch midfielder is 29-year-old, an expert profile that could be useful to Stefano Pioli because of his technical and tactical qualities. Strootman has already played in Italy for 5 years with Roma, although injuries hindered his career in the capital.
Now Kevin Strootman plays with Marseille who don’t want to take into consideration the possible transfer of one of their stars. However, in case of an interesting offer Marseille could be willing to negotiate. Strootman is one of the highest earners of the French club and Marseille are reportedly willing to cut their spending despite the fact that coach Andre Villas-Boas considers the Netherlands international one of the most important elements of the team.
Kevin Strootman has made 18 appearances this season scoring 1 goal and providing 2 assists. Until now AC Milan have prioritized the signing of Todibo and the sale of one player. Only then Maldini and Boban will think of signings in midfield.
