Former AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie is in advanced talks to return in Serie A with Barcelona pushing for him to leave.
Juventus are preparing for a very bizarre summer transfer window following the arrival of new sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli. The Bianconeri have just secured the sensational signing of Romelu Lukaku (pending the sale of Dusan Vlahovic to PSG) and next could be an important AC Milan player form the recent past, meaning Franck Kessie.
The Juventus management has already opened contacts to bring back Franck Kessie to Italy. The 26-year-old box-to-box midfielder has failed to live up to expectations in his first year in Spain. The Ivory Coast international has played a peripheric role at Barcelona since his clamorous transfer from AC Milan in 2022.
Kessie is not part of coach Xavi Hernandez’s plans for next season and Barcelona are pushing to sell him or at least leave on loan. Franck has already refused a rich contract from from Saudi Arabia because he wants a move back to Italy or in the Premier League. According to recent reports, Kessie is the top priority of Juventus after Lukaku.
Barcelona have signed Ilkay Gundogan as a free agent from Manchester City so the chances of Franck Kessie to play first team football next season are getting even more slim. The 26-year-old midfielder is apparently open to join Juventus. He was also rumored as a target of Inter before they closed the Davide Frattesi signing.
Kessie’s agent George Atangana has also tried to explore a possible return to AC Milan this summer. The player would be more than twilling to return but the Rossoneri not so much. Even the new management of the club has not forgotten the circumstances of his departure when year ago when he publicly declared he would renew with Milan just to leave a few months later on a free transfers.
