Serie A leaders Juventus host AC Milan on Sunday. Coach Pioli hopes the Rossoneri will be able to earn a positive results after eight consecutive defeats at the Allianz stadium.
At the most difficult moment for AC Milan this season, Pioli’s side is tasked to face Serie A leaders Juventus. The Bianconeri lead the Italian league with 29 points from 11 games while the Rossoneri sit in 11-th spot with just 13 points. Nevertheless, the Rossoneri aim for a positive result after 8 consecutive defeats at the Allianz stadium.
Despite everything, coach Stefano Pioli absolutely does not want to be considered as already defeated. And so this week he tried to stimulate the squad after the home defeat against Lazio, he tried to touch the right points and encourage the players to make a super performance that would vigorously re-launch the whole season.
Regarding the formation there aren’t much doubts for Pioli. In defence, Leo Duarte will continue to partner with Alessio Romagnoli. Musacchio is still not fit. Ricardo Rodriguez returns to the starting eleven. The Swiss defender will complete the back three. He will play as the third centre-back in Pioli’s innovative 3-4-2-1 formation.
Theo Hernandez, who has cemented his place in the starting eleven, will play in a more advanced position in midfield. Just like Andrea Conti who returns in the position he occupied while at Atalanta. The midfield will be completed by Ismael Benancer and one between Paqueta and Krunic. According to La Gazzetta dello Sports it’s the Brazilian in advantage over Krunic while Sky Sport reports otherwise. Kessie has not been called up for this match for tactical reasons.
The good news for the Rossoneri is the quick recovery of Jesus Suso. With Samu Castillejo injured, Suso is the only option on the right. The Spaniard, together with Hakan Calhanoglu, will be in support of Piatek. The Polish striker will lead the attack with Rafael Leao set to make an appearance in the second half.
JUVENTUS (4-3-1-2): Szczesny, Cuadrado, Bonucci, De Ligt, Alex Sandro, Ramsey, Pjanic, Matuidi, Bernardeschi, Higuain, Ronaldo.
AC MILAN (3-4-2-1): Donnanrumma; Duarte, Romagnoli, Rodriguez; Conti, Bennacer, Paqueta (Krunic), Hernandez; Suso, Calhanoglu; Piatek
