Journalist confirms meeting with Sassuolo for €70m duo
AC Milan will meet with Sassuolo to discuss about the potential signing of both Gianluca Scamacca and Domenico Berardi.
AC Milan are exploiting this period of international break to advance talks for several transfer targets. The Rossoneri are paying special attention to the attack. With Giroud and Ibrahimovic reaching a certain age, Maldini and Massara are working to sign a new striker this summer.
The frontrunner is obviously Divock Origi, the Liverpool striker who becomes a free agent. AC Milan have offered the Belgian a contract of 3.5 million euros per season while Origi and his agent are asking for 4.5 million. Nevertheless, Origi is not the only target with AC Milan very interested in Sassuolo striker Gianluca Scamacca.
AC Milan will soon meet with the Sassuolo management to discuss a potential move for both Gianluca Scamacca and Domenico Berardi. Berardi is Stefano Pioli’s top pick for the right wing. The Italian coach asked for Berardi’s signing last year but the Rossoneri efforts were unsuccessful. This time, the situation looks much more promising.
La Gazzetta dello Sport journalist Carlo Laudisa confirms that the meeting between AC Milan and Sassuolo’s management will take place in the next few days, before domestic football returns. It will not be easy for the Rossoneri to snatch the Italian duo considering that Sassuolo have become an expensive shop in recent years.
“There will be a meeting between Milan and Sassuolo shortly. In the Rossoneri’s list of targets there are two important names: one is that of Scamacca, who is also liked by Inter, the other is that of Berardi. Milan are looking for a player on the right who can make the difference. Berardi is back in fashion after having been close to Milan during the last summer. A year ago the Rossoneri had offered 15 million euros, while Sassuolo valued him 30 million. Now the economic demands could be even higher“, reports Laudisa .
