Agent Jorge Mendes is expected in Milano to finalize the renewal of Rafael Leao and resume talks on a possible transfer for Renato Sanches.
The Rossoneri tried to sign Sven Botmanin January but the Dutch defender is not the only Lille player linked with AC Milan. Paolo Maldini and Massara are equally interested in Renato Sanches. Franck Kessie will leave Milan at the end of the season as a free agent and the Portuguese midfielder is considered the ideal replacement of the Ivorian.
The contract of Renato Sanches with Lille expires on June 2023 and consequently his current club is forced to sell him in the upcoming transfer window. Journalist Nicolo Schira confirms that the 24-year-old has turned down another renewal offer from Lille.
The former Bayern Munich midfielder is set to change clubs in the summer and AC Milan could be his next destination. Jorge Mendes is expected soon at Casa Milan to finalize the contract extension of Rafael Leao. The famous Portuguese agent will also discus about the situation of Sanches.
Lille are reportedly asking for a transfer fee of around €25 million considering the short contract deadline. That’s the same figure Milan offered in January but the biggest problem are personal terms. Renato Sanches currently earns around €2.7 million per season and is looking for an improved contract.
AC Milan can take advantage of Decreto Crescita that allows Italian clubs to reduce their gross spending on foreign players. The next meeting with Mends could be decisive to understand whether the parties can reach agreement. Important Premier League clubs are interested in Renato Sanches too.
