Jorge Mendes pushes Chelsea winger to AC Milan

Agent Jorge Mendes is looking to bring more of his players at AC Milan after completing the appointment of Sergio Conceicao as coach.

The January transfer window has been rather dull for AC Milan. Only two weeks remain until the end of the winter session but the Rossoneri are not among the most active teams on the market. AC Milan have so far completed only the sale of Luka Romero to Cruz Azul for a fee of around €3.5 million and rumored to be negotiating the transfer of Fikayo Tomori to Juventus. Regarding incomings the name of Kyle Walker is the only one who seems really close to joining AC Milan in January.

The recent matches have once more emphasized AC Milan’s urgent need for fresh legs especially in midfield and attack. There will be no signing of a centre forward in January but the situation is different for the winger position. AC Milan are looking to offload one between Noah Okafor and Samuel Chukwueze and replace them very quickly.

Since the appointment of Sergio Conceicao as new AC Milan coach the club has been continuously in touch with Jorge Mendes. The super agent is working to find new clubs for two of his most important clients. Joao Felix and Giovanni Reyna have been offered to AC Milan. Both players are similarly versatile in practically being able to cover almost all positions in attack.

The Rossoneri are quite cold on the name of Giovanni Reyna but the situation is different for Joao Felix. The 25-year-old Portuguese star is already looking to leave Chelsea. On paper, Felix has done well in the first six months with the Blues scoring 7 goals and assisting 2 in 19 appearances. However, Felix has been unable to become part of Chelsea’s Premier League squad and has featured mostly in Cup and European competitions.

On paper Joao Felix seems an ideal player for AC Milan’s squad with his verticality and ability to set up chances for his teammates. At AC Milan Felix would also have the opportunity to link up with his national team mate Rafael Leao. Chelsea are open to let Joan Felix leave on loan in case of a pleasing proposal for the player. AC Milan will need to take into consideration the high fees involved in such a high profile operation but Conceicao desperately needs reinforcements. Jorge Mendes is happy to assist.
