Jorge Mendes plotting sensational swap deal

Agent Jorge Mendes is plotting a sensational swap deal offering James Rodriguez to AC Milan in exchange for Rafael Leao.

The news that Hakan Calhanoglu would leave may have been surprising for many but not for the management. The Rossoneri had inquired for a couple of names and now the hunt for a new attacking midfielder has been intensified with James Rodrigiez being a new target.

The Colombian star wants to quit Everton after the departure of coach Carlo Ancelotti. He joined the Premier League club on a short-term contract so he becomes a free agent in one year. Everton are open to let him go for a fee of 10-20 million euros. His agent, Jorge Mendes, has offered James to AC Milan.

Mendes is negotiating a sensational swap deal between James Rodriguez and Rafael Leao reports SportMediaset. The permanence of the young Portuguese striker at Milan is not certain and both players are Mendes’ clients.

In a recent meeting with the Rossoneri management, Jorge Mendes received the green light to explore the options for Leao. AC Milan would like to keep the former Lille but if they receive an offer of over €30 million he will leave.

Palo Maldini considers James an upgrade over Hakan Calhanoglu but swapping a 22-year-old player, like Leao, with a 29-year-old like the Everton star, does not excite the Rossoneri. However, if Everton include cash in the deal, the proposal could become much more tempting for Milan.
