Coach Rolando Maran advises AC Milan to sign Lazio attacking midfielder Luis Alberto if they want to reach the next level.
In an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport, coach Rolando Maran talked about Serie A and in particular focused on the January window. This is an important and delicate moment for all the clubs both for those who fight to avoid relegation and for those who want to reach the Champions or win the Scudetto.
After a brief analysis of the winter transfer session, which according to him is most useful to the “little ones” of Serie A, Rolando Maran focuses on the situation of AC Milan. The Rossoneri need a player capable of making a difference, one of those top players who can raise the bar. Lazio attacking midfielder Luis Alberto would be the ideal player that can take Milan to the next level.
“The January market is atypical, if it does not offer quality players, it is more useful to those who have to save themselves. The story begins to change if, as in the case of Atalanta, players like Boga are purchased. He surely makes the difference. Same thing could happen with Milan if they were to sign a player like Luis Alberto. He is one of those player able to raise the bar of strength and quality of the entire group”.
The Spanish star has been a key player for Lazio ever since his arrival from Liverpool in 2016. The Rossoneri tried to sign the 29-year-old attacking midfielder during the summer to replace Hakan Calhanoglu but without success.
AC Milan were not willing to match Lazio’s asking price of €50 million. However, things have changed in six months. While Luis Alberto remains a key player for Lazio he’s not happy with life under Maurizio Sarri. The 29-year-old midfielder wants to leave and Lazio have lowered their asking price to around €30 million. Nevertheless, AC Milan want to postpone every important investment for next summer.
