Goalscoring legend Pippo Inzaghi returns to talk about his time as AC Milan coach.
Filippo Inzaghi will always be remembered as one of the best centre forwards in AC Milan’s history. He joined the rossoneri in 2001, arriving from Juventus for more than 30 million euros and spent 11 years in San Siro winning two Champions Leagues along the way. After his retirement from football he became the new coach of Milan Primavera and later was promoted to first team coach after the dismissal of Clarence Seedorf.
In an long interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport, Pippo Inzaghi has come back to talk about his experience on AC Milan’s bench, explaining he has no regrets: “No, I do not have any regrets. Simple, you have to be in the right place at the right time and my brother at Lazio is the best proof of that. At AC Milan I managed a complicated group in a difficult time and this made me understand that I can do this job.“
Although Inzaghi adopted a strategy that was more aggressive than his predecessor Seedorf, he lasted only one year in San Siro and was subsequently replaced with Sinisa Mihajlovic. Who knows, perhaps in the future, we will see Inzaghi, so famed for his goalscoring exploits, manage again the rossoneri.
