AC Milan are set to have a mercato battle with the city-rivals of Inter for the services of French midfielder Romain Faivre.
In the few remaining days of the summer transfer window AC Milan are trying to complete the purchase of Romain Faivre. The 23-year-old French player has emerged as a surprise name to replace Hakan Calangolu. However, AC Milan head scout Geoffrey Moncada has been following him for the past year.
The Rossoneri have opened talks with Brest and are optimistic a deal can be closed soon. Brest spent half a million to sign Faivre from Monaco last year and are now asking 15 million euros for his services. The French midfielder has already agreed personal terms for a five-year contract with the Rossoneri.
However, Inter could cause problems for Maldini. Sportmediaset reports that Inter are trying to snatch Faivre from AC Milan. The Nerazzurri could sign another player before the end of the mercato and have turned their attention on the French midfielder.
Two Inter players are set to join Brest this season. Lucien Agoume and Eddie Salcedo will move to Ligue 1 on loan and during talks with Brest than name of Romain Faivre was mentioned as a possible player to take the opposite path.
Although Inter have a preferential lane with Brest, AC Milan are confident that at the end they will sign Faivre. The 23-year-old is reportedly considering only a move to Milan and is pushing Brest to accept the Rossoneri’s offer.
