Ibrahimovic to miss next three matches
AC Milan will have to do without the help of Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the next games. The Swede has tested positive for Covid.
AC Milan won 3-2 against Bodo Glimt progressing to the next stage of Europa League but without the help of Zlatan Ibrahimovic. A few hours before the game it was revealed that the Swedish champion had tested positive for Covid-19.
“I tested negative to Covid yesterday and positive today. No symptoms what so ever. Covid had the courage to challenge me. Bad idea“, said Zlatan jokingly on Twitter.
Nevertheless, the situation is troubling for AC Milan. Ibrahimovic is in fact the third Red and Black player to test positive for Covid in a short time after Rafael Leao and Leo Duarte.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic is asymptomatic but he will have to remain in quarantine for 14 days. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Swedish centre forward e will be forced to miss the next two league matches against Crotone and Spezia and also the final Europa League playoff match against Rio Ave scheduled for next Thursday.
Against Bodo Glimt Zlatan was replaced by baby striker Lorenzo Colombo who scored in his debut. However, with the return of Rafael Leao it will be the Portuguese to lead the attack.
