Zlatan Ibrahimovic will certainly leave AC Milan at the end of the season but the Rossoneri already have his replacement.

Now only confirmations arrive: the future of Zlatan Ibrahimovic will be far from the Rossoneri. The Swedish champion, whose contract expires on June, will most likely not stay at Milan. For various reasons.

According to Sky Sport, it is all due to the club’s austerity choice. The Rossoneri are aiming to impose a wage cap of 2.5-3 million euros for their players. That would be more that half of what Ibra is currently earning.

Without forgetting the age of the Swedish giant: 38 years old. Way too much considering that the new project of Milan will be based on young players and a few experienced veterans above 28-30 years old.

Therefore the end of the season will also mark the end of Ibrahimovic’s second spell at Milan. But who will be the player to replace Zlatan? According to journalist Peppe Di Stefano, the solution would already be at home: Rafael Leao.

The Portuguese striker will have to prove that he is worth the investment of almost 30 million euros made last summer to sign him from Lille. The next will be Leao’s year to become a regular starter and lead the attack of the Rossoneri.

Leao has very different qualities and characteristics compared to Ibrahimovic. Nevertheless, the 20-year-old striker will become a key player of AC Milan. Hoping that Ibra’s influence in recent months has made him grow, mentally and technically.
