Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s recovery is getting complicated and AC Milan could be forced to change their transfer strategy in attack.
AC Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic suffered a knee injury in the match against Juventus. The Swedish star missed the last three games of Serie A but the Rossoneri were still able to end the season in second place even without his help.
Ibrahimovic is struggling with the conservative therapy of the left knee and the signals are not optimal. If in 10 days the new medical exams do not give a satisfactory clinical picture then the 39-year-old will undergo a new surgery.
A potential operation will impact AC Milan’s transfer plans reports MilanNews.it. Ibrahimovic risks staying out for a log time so the Rossoneri may be forced to change their transfer strategy regarding the attack. Olivier Giroud will surely not be enough considering AC Milan’s busy schedule for next season.
According to MilanNews.it, in addition to Giroud, AC Milan will reconsider a move for Andrea Belotti or Gianluca Scamacca. Belotti becomes a free agent in one year but, nevertheless, Torino are asking a high fee of 30 million euros for his services. The 27-year-old centre forward is currently busy with the Italian national team in EURO. His price tag could decrease a lot in the last days of the transfer window.
Sassuolo are shooting even higher for Scamacca with their €40 million asking price. The 22-year-old did well at Genoa scoring 12 goals in 29 appearances. Scamacca was never a regular starter but he wouldn’t mind the role of Ibra’s back-up.
