Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester City and Manchester United are interested in Ismael Bennacer but AC Milan’s position is clear.
Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester City and Manchester United are on the trail of AC Milan midfielder Ismael Bennacer. PSG director Leonardo has started contacts with the agent, while Pep Guardiola contacted the player directly.
It was recently revealed that Bennacer has a €50 million release clause valid only to foreign clubs and paid in one tranche. His good performances have not gone unnoticed this season and PSG have already seen a 30 million bid rejected by the Rossoneri management.
According to Sportmediaset, AC Milan’s position is very clear. Although selling the 22-year-old defensive midfielder would represent a great capital gain for the club, AC Milan will not sell Bennacer unless a club pays his €50 million release clause. In that case any interested club would bypass Milan’s resistance for their gem.
Club CEO Ivan Gazidis has stated that Milan have no intention of selling the Algerian midfielder but the payment of the clause would not allow Milan to oppose the transfer. It’s up to PSG, Manchester City and United to decide whether to make a big investment for the best player of Africa’s Cup of nations.
The Rossoneri club invested around 16 million to buy Bennacer in the summer of 2019. Selling him at 50 million would help a lot the club’s budget. Gazidis, however, hopes that the player will remain in Milanello and will once again be a pivot in the team’s midfield. Rangnick too is reportedly a fan of Bennacer.
